Class 1 children have been writing poems about their special places.

My poem about my pond

By Ruby Y2

Tadpoles, extraordinary,black, squiggly tadpoles.
Newts, green, stripy, still as rocks newts.
Frogs, bumpy, leapy, tiny and twirling.
Leaves, brown, crinkly, floaty and green as grass.
Water, sparkly, swishing, swirling.
Plants, tall, long, bendy, swingy.

Fireworks at Toms house

By Martha Y1

Loud bang, the best one yet
Colourful pink and blue big boom.
Cold we are, cold as ice, ice, ice.
Round balls of fire, fire,
Big, best, biggest
Exploding like Suns in the dark sky.

My Barn Poem

By Daniel Y2

Big as a giant
My barn has three cows
Muddy, mooing, munching.
My kittens are as fluffy as a cushion.
Machines as smelly as dung,
Farmers covered in boiler suits.

My Home

By Tyler Y1

Swing fast my tummy goes funny
Squeaking going front to back.
Tree as tall as a giant
With lots of arms on each side.
Flowers, soft, colourful, spiky,
Purple, different colours all around.
Slide slippery like a hill with a skateboard.
Home, loads of toys.
